Intakes for drinking water, plants, fish hatcheries, industrial process water, power plant cooling water, desalination plants and many other applications require careful design consideration in order to responsibly protect the aquatic life at the intake.

Intake screens equipped with Johnson Screens' primary filtration Hydroburst™ system is designed to reduce slot entrance velocity 0.5 f/s / 0.135 m/s. Lower entrance velocity protects surrounding aquatic life and prevents debris clogging. This technology can be implemented wherever high volumes of surface water are required.
